Situated where the Paris-Bordeaux and Nantes-Lyon lines meet, the stations of TOURS and SAINT-PIERRE-DES-CORPS make full benefit of the successful TGV Atlantique with an ever growing number of highly efficient connections to the capital: There are 16 TGV return journeys a day, getting you to the Montparnasse station in the centre of Paris in under an hour.
For a number of years now, the TGV network has linked Touraine directly to towns in the Ile-de-France region (Massy and its Grandes Ecoles [prestigious universities], Marne-la-Vallée and Disneyland Paris) and opens out onto the wider world with a direct service to Roissy-Charles de Gaulle Airport. And let’s not forget the south-east of France, with the TGV Méditerranée (Tours is now just 4 hr 50 from Marseilles, and 2 hr 50 from Lyon), or the great northern cities such as Lille (3 hr), Brussels (3 hr 30) and London (4 hr 20).
